PEF Makes Beautiful Music at Middle School

Opportunity:

The double bass at the Middle School had played its last note – the instrument was worn out beyond repair. Amy Smid, band director at Pentucket Middle School, applied for a PEF grant to replace the bass.

Solution:

The PEF provided a $1,500 grant to so Smid could keep the bass range in her music.

Results:

The new bass is being used across the band, orchestra and jazz band.  “It will be an essential part of all of the performing ensembles for many years to come!” Smid said.
